Traveling The Narrow Road

We live in a world gone mad. People are applauded for saying things so stupid, so illogical, so lacking in common sense that people in prior generations, upon hearing such nonsense, would simply have looked them in the eye and said “you’ve lost your mind.” 

But now, instead of dismissing such people, too many of us enthusiastically believe and repeat insane lies or we stay silent in fear of retribution for speaking the truth. Christians should not reside in either of these camps.

What Is Really Going On?

As I write this, massive protests in France, Germany and the U.K. against mandates and lockdowns receive little or no coverage in the American mainstream media. The same is true for coverage of events in New South Wales, Australia which has become a police state.

Governments around the world either brutalize their citizens to comply to their mandates or encourage businesses to do their dirty work for them.

Meanwhile, here in America, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and an uncontrolled border resemble acts of national suicide.

“Woke” ideology, the black lives matter movement and critical race theory seemingly sprang up out of nowhere all around the world in 2020. In reality, this agenda has been decades in the making. In the U.S. these ideologies have infiltrated every facet of society—government, the media, big tech, universities, corporate America, the military, the FBI, the seminaries and churches.

At the beginning of this pandemic, it was frustratingly difficult to get accurate information necessary to make our own health decisions. Once a narrative was established by the CDC and others, opposing views were censored and ridiculed by social media platforms and the mainstream media. Governments around the world, in concert, shut down their economies to fight a virus with an overall survival rate near 100%. The media have engaged in non-stop fear-mongering even to this day.

Therapies using safe existing drugs were deemed unsafe and ineffective so that emergency use authorization of the vaccines could be approved. Originally we were told that the goal of vaccination was to achieve herd immunity, estimated at 70% of the population vaccinated. Now they want to vaccinate everyone, even those with superior natural immunity, even children who are at near zero risk from this virus. All while ignoring the unprecedented large numbers of deaths and serious adverse events from the vaccine.

Doesn’t this all seem strange, even malevolent to you?

Why Are They Doing This?

Christians have to ask “why are they doing this?” We must discern the truth so that we are ready to expose evil rather than be partners with it.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper,

rise from the dead,

and Christ will shine on you.”

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. —Ephesians 5:6-17 (Emphasis mine)

You Are Being Lied To

How do we discern the truth about current events? First, we must reject anything that contradicts Scripture. But we must also expose and reject the liars.

The bromide “follow the money” is helpful but inadequate for understanding today’s world gone mad. We must follow the lies. We are witnessing the reprobate/depraved mind of Romans 1:28. Such a mind is corrupt, evil, resists the truth and hates God. In Romans 1:29-32, we see the horrible evil a depraved mind is capable of.

Why is it important to “follow the lies”? Because Satan is the father of lies and liars push his agenda. We can identify liars by their opposition to the created order revealed in Genesis. Whoever denies the Creator and promotes evolution is a liar. Whoever denies the sanctity of life and champions abortion is a liar. Those who seek to destroy the divine institution of the family and allow government to overrule parental rights are liars. Anyone who denies the fact that God created humanity as male and female and that marriage is between a man and a woman only is a liar. Those who proclaim we have a man-made climate crisis and deny the One who sustains all things are liars. Those who seek to reverse God’s establishment of nations at the Tower of Babel through globalism and the New World Order are liars. In each of these cases, they, in essence, repeat Satan’s lie in the Garden that God is not trustworthy—“Has God said?”

We can identify liars by their Satanic counterfeit of the truth, be it false religion, false worship or a false messiah.

How Can We Detect Lies About Current Events?

The depraved minds around us are so brazen now that they don’t remove evidence of their lies, but instead depend on media and big tech to silence and gaslight anyone who takes the time to discover their lies. Even an elementary search of government and government agency websites will reveal the fact that we are being lied to and that they know they are lying.

When you catch leaders telling lies, question everything they say afterwards. Don’t trust liars. Ever. 

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.—1 Timothy 4:1-2 

Once you discover a liar, don’t believe anything they say without first checking out opposing views. 

The first to plead his case seems right,

Until another comes and examines him.—Proverbs 18:17 (NASB)

Be alert to spin. Recently, data from Israel demonstrated that the vaccine was only 40% effective against the delta variant. Instead of considering the possibility that vaccines may never stop this virus and may actually do harm, they immediately spun this data to promote a 3rd jab. An honest person would pause and re-evaluate his position.

Take heed of censorship. If speech challenging the mainstream narrative is censored, there is a high probability that those promoting that narrative are covering up lies.

Beware of fact checkers who always side with the mainstream narrative. This is gaslighting. It’s purpose is for you to question the reality you see clearly in front of you. They are trying to convince you that you are the one who is crazy, not them.

Tactics Used to Deceive

I would like to make a distinction between evil people who lie and deceive others for their own gain and Christians who spread lies because they have been deceived. While the latter must take responsibility for being deceived and spreading lies, Ephesians 5, quoted above, clearly states Christians can wake up and expose the lies they once believed, to the benefit of others.

You can spot liars and dishonest people by the tactics they use. Here are a few of those tactics:

Projection

You may have noticed during the past few years that the Left would often accuse conservatives of something sinister but that later it would be revealed that the leftists were actually doing what they accused their opponents of doing. It became so obvious and frequent that I suggested that if you want to know what the Left is up to, just listen to what they are falsely accusing their political opponents of doing.

Projection was used by Satan in the Garden of Eden against Eve. He accused God of being a liar in the Garden when, in fact, he was the one lying. 

Satan’s declaration—“You will not surely die”—boldly states that God lied to Adam when he said, “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Satan declares that God is a liar as part of his lie. Satan is the originator of projection.

Propaganda and Indoctrination

Propaganda and Indoctrination are two sides of the same coin. Both expose the target to repeated messaging meant to deconstruct the worldview and value system of individuals to conform them to the groupthink of the collective.

Merriam-Webster defines propaganda as “ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one’s cause or to damage an opposing cause.” ¹

Perhaps you have seen video compilations in which newscasters around the country all give the same message using the exact same wording. Or maybe you have noticed various world leaders all using the same terms such as “Build Back Better” or “Great Reset”. Both are propaganda.

Indoctrination is used most effectively against children. Standardized curriculum and handing complete control to teacher’s unions of what is being taught in schools across the nation opened the door to indoctrination of America’s youth into godless ideologies and the progressive agenda. We should not be surprised when whole generations readily embrace the ideas of a world gone mad.

Gaslighting

This term originates from the 1944 film Gaslight in which a murderous thief psychologically manipulates his wife to question her reality hoping he can have her institutionalized for his own monetary gain.

Though the term is not consistently defined, descriptions of gaslighting generally include the use of lies, denial of those lies even when there is proof, projection and isolation to make the victim question their reality in order to gain power over them. In other words it is an effort to make you believe a reality different than what “your own lying eyes” tell you in order to gain control over you.

When you see the terms “fact check” or “disinformation” or “debunked” prepare to be gaslighted if you read any further. 

For example, if you see data provided by doctors that early treatment of coronavirus with hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin is effective and safe, big tech companies and the mainstream media will likely label that data as disinformation so that you question the data that is right in front of your own eyes.

If your “lying eyes” come across information from reliable sources that suggests that we are being lied to by medical and governmental authorities, it will be labeled a conspiracy theory or something only tin foil hat wearers would believe in an effort to shame you into believing a different reality. They do this even though proof of their lies can often be found on their own websites!

Finally, gaslighters use censorship and spin to isolate you from the truth, from reality, making you more susceptible to their lies.

Next Steps

The seemingly insane events we see played out before us are not happening by accident. They are happening by design. If you are aware of what they are doing it is much easier to discern the truth. So, what is a good next step?

Start, if you haven’t already, with becoming convinced of this truth about what’s going on—It’s not about the virus. The virus is real and has killed many people. But when authorities tell us their actions in response to the virus are for our good but simultaneously censor alternative actions that may be much better, then we might reasonably suspect that they view the pandemic as an opportunity to install their agenda.

Ask these questions and seek truthful answers:

• Why has there been so much effort put into rewriting history.
• Why have so many leaders in all areas of life gone “woke” and successfully divided people against each other.
• Why have anti-lockdown and anti-mandate protests been met with brutal force around the world when Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters were left alone to riot and destroy?
• Why has there been non-stop fear-mongering about the virus?
• Why have so many nations ruined their economies in their efforts to end the pandemic?
• Why would New Zealand shut down their entire country because of one case of Covid?
• Why is the goal 100% vaccination when it’s now proven they don’t prevent the disease or prevent its spread? Why is it so important to them that they want perpetual vaccines.
• Why do they want to vaccinate children when the risk from the vaccine is far greater than the risk from the disease?
• Why do they want to restrict our movement, prevent us from working or shopping if we aren’t vaccinated when they previously lied to us and said there would be no vaccine mandates.
• Why are dissenting voices being cancelled, censored or ridiculed?

How to Respond to a World Gone Mad

Pray for wisdom. Listen to God.

Don’t make decisions based on fear. Easier said than done, I know. But Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:25-34 are not suggestions. You cannot add one hour to your span of life by being anxious.

Despots have always used lies, blame and projection to achieve their goals and they target truth-telling Christians who stand in their way. Expect persecution.

Expect authorities to repeatedly promise temporary and soft restrictions to your freedoms that are followed by increasingly draconian measures. The noose will tighten until they have taken everything unless they are stopped.

Don’t comply with anyone who threatens you or intimidates you to worship anything or anyone but God.

If you are convinced the government is asking or forcing you to sin, resist. Stand your ground.

Conspiracy theories in today’s world turn out to be true with alarming regularity. This is not surprising when they are associated with a New World Order. Satan has conspired from the beginning to be worshipped.

Always remember that God is in control and that no one can stay his hand. The solution for this mess will come from God, not man. But we have individual responsibilities and callings. Know what yours are. Fulfill them.
